History

LaSalle Mining Company was organized in 1906 exploration on the Kearsarge Lode. It consisted of 2 shafts, which produced approximately 8 million pounds of copper during the years of 1910 through 1920. The LaSalle copper mine is located south of Calumet, Michigan. A large variety of minerals had been found there. The current mine dumps are excellent for finding copper and silver crystal groups for collectors.
